Default Krylon Fusion Spray Paint (Question)

Would I need a clearcoat on top of the "Gloss Black" I intend to buy?

The site for STOCK Color is too expensive plus, I don't own a spray gun

Check out the "stock" paint prices: http://www.colorrite.com/

Thanks for any advise

Be careful using a rattlecan on top of an original/thinners based paint job - sometimes the propellants and thinning agents used in cans will react with the original /spray paint, leaving you with a mess which can only be cured by scraping to bare metal. Your average panel shop with a colourmatching unit can easily duplicate standard colours, and at the price you quoted you could buy a half decent spraygun anyway, and have change ! Practise a little, and a spraygun is actually easier to use than a rattlecan.
To answer your question - clearcoat from a rattlecan is very thin and doesn't stand up to UV light or any minor bumps, and is VERY difficult to spray properly. You'd need about 5 coats, and even then it wouldn't be very strong. Sometimes "less is more" - a good paint job shouldn't need clearcoat, unless you're using a metallic-based main coat.

If you are going to paint metal, you might want to try powder coating instead. I had a local powder coater powder coat some of my metal pieces (center stand, muffler guards, header pipe, and ect for under $60.00. Black. It is worth the cost because it holds up better that spray paint. Looks great and durable.

I was planning on Sanding down everything but the Tank. It still has a good Gloss look to it.

Can't wait to take the drab out of the plastics!
