I have painted afew small jobs before with pretty decent turn out but I wasnt going for perfection. I did have a helper but this time I'm trying it alone and this will be a very detailed paint project with lots of wet sanding and polishing. I have been planning this for a while so now I'm ready to get the ball rolling. would it hurt to spray adhesion promoter over scuffed up paint? there are some places that are bare plastic and some that are not plus some areas with filler so I figure I'll just spray everything with promoter

Just leave it with the primer as the paint coat. Seems to be the new thing around here and looks like total **** ~_~ ........

Nah, but seriouslygood luck with it. I would probably have to sit down and read the manual to just hook the gun up with my luck ^_^

Alright, I have been painting a few peices here and there, and when ever time allows. I finally have everything clearcoated. My question is about wet sanding and buffing/polishing. The clear looks pretty damn good as it is with some orange peel but its not that bad...I wanted to avoid wetsanding and ruining the good clear that I have since it would make buffing/polishing harder to bring back the shine. Would I be able to smooth out any orange peel with polishing compound wothout wet sanding? or would it be better to bite the bullet and wet sand then polish everything? Speaking of polishing compound, should I use poliching compound or rubbing compound to bring out the shine in the clear? or is it advised to use both?
