overheating problem...cbr600rr 03'
hello, i just put my bike back together after i dumped it and just got around to fixing it up now..
i finally got it back on the road today and it seems im having an overheating issue..
i bought all new fluids for the bike, and when i put new coolant in, i drained out the old stuff.. i only filled the resivour and not the rad so when i was riding the bike overheated like crazy.. i figured i had an air bubble in the rad so i let it cool down and i poured fluid directly into the rad itself... the temp was went down considerably, but it still climbs.. i did some local riding today, and i didnt really get on it... temp went upto about 220F..
just wanted to know if thats normal.. like i said i went the speed limit the whole day, prolly hit around 90 to open it up a lil..
think theres still a problem or is that a normal temp...? from what i remember before the bike would stay at around 180ish when id ride locally, now it just seems like it heats up really fast..
any suggestions or explainations would be great, thx

220 is normal operating temp at stop and go but should drop to 180 or so when you're at highway speed. you can't just add in the coolant into the radiator when it's all been gone...you need to burp the air out.
add in coolant, keep rad. cap off...let it idle until about 180 degrees...then rev the throttle few, many times. you'll see bubbles come out to the top. if need be, fill in more coolant, then close up...and you're done.
