Default Overheating? Not sure

1992 Honda CBR f2, put it in the shop because the temp guage was getting to the red line. They rebuilt the water pump, o rings, new radiator cap, they also said the bike got up to 240 the fan would kick on but would turn back off at like 220/230 so didnt really do anything. After a month finally got the bike back and it seems to do the same thing.

Does anybody know about these bikes? Im not sure if the temp being up that high is nomal or if the guage itself is off. When it gets up there the fan kicks on, but only runs for about a minuet then kicks back off, the temp guage dosent even seem affected by the fan.

Any suggestions?

How old is you fan switch? If old, replace it...I fresh one will be more sensitive...

Pull the thermostat...those can get old and rusty, thus stuck open/close.
