Well, I ripped it apart today to find something I should have checked/thought of first...low coolant. I flushed the system anyway, and filled it with distilled water (until I can find the leak). Rode it around for twenty mins without any problems. Definitely going to take it for a longer ride soon though.
I also changed the spark plugs and oil. And found out I need an air filter [&:]
Any "common" leaks on these F4's?

Don't know, but you can get a service manual that'll show you. Just do a search. It's like stephygee.com or something like that.
Ok, update guys. Adding coolant (I flused then filled it) wasn't the issue. It's still over heating. Strange thing is that when I'm running around 5500 @ 40 mph it starts to overheat. To cool it down, I up shift to 6th and it starts cooling down...about 3800 rpms. Hmmm. Anyway, I'm going to pull the thermostat and see what happens.
