Default Overheating 240+

i have a 2002 CBR F4i 600 and when i first bought it, its been running about 235 degrees on hot day for almost 6-7 months no problems, and low 190's cold days, recently it got up to 256 and lights started flashing so i turned it off... decided to flush the radiator and add new fluids in it and its still running real high if im not in motion. someone said its my thermostat and i need a new one... is that what is it?
2nd question if i take out the thermostat can i run the bike without one and what can happen if i don't have one in for a few weeks??
3rd can it be stuck and how do i know if my thermostat is still good and not stuck?

Yes you can run without a thermostat but its not advised. Read that right out of my Haynes manual this morning because mine is having the same issues. Mine is the fan I believe, but a thermostat is pretty cheap to replace and can be done in a day. (My bike is naked, so it will be alot easier for me). Is your fan kicking on around ~220? Or at all?

Question - Is it getting up to 240+ at a stop, and then dropping down around 200-210 when you are under way? Or is it constantly running that hot?

And your fan should kick on around 220. It could be the thermostat. They can and do go bad

it gets up to 240+ when not moving (at a light), and drops under 220 under way, and the fan will be on the entire time. i really dont know if it safe to operate over 240 degrees
