Default oil question (sorry)

how do i check the oil level as i cant find a sight glass and should i expect to see a couple of drips directly below the side stand every time i park?
I dont know my round this bike as i have only just bought it. 2001 model, 17000 miles and anologue dash.

This morning i noticed 3 to 5 drips of oil directly below the lug to the back of the side stand where the spring connects and it looks like engine oil minutes after i pulled up at work 65 mile trip? i really want to check the level before i commute 65miles home?

Please help

Rob

Not sure about the Blackbird, but most bikes now have an oil level sight glass, usually on the right hand side of the bike around the fairing panel. I have to get down on my knees to see the sight glass on my 2002 CBR 600 but some are easier to see depending on the year. It could be that your bike has a screw in dip stick, but there again this could just be where you pour the oil into the engine. Did the bike not have the owners manual with it? If no other members reply try Google for an answer or phone your local Honda dealer.
