Oil indicator flashes while engine running
Hello all. I am new here. Can somebody help with this issue on CBR 600 F sport 2001, please?
When the bike is running, everything seems to be fine. Good sound of engine, oil level is ok, not overheating..
But if i stop on the traffic lights, oil indicator starts to flash. If i shift a gear and pull the throttle,
it stops flashing. So it flashes only on low rpm. Do somebody know, what can be wrong?
Can be a problem with oil pressure switch? Or a relief valve?
Oil was regularly changed with new filter, there is a new clutch, oil pump chain.
Engine has about 16 000 km. I think it is flashing only if the engine is warmed,
must check again at the weekend. The bike was not started since last year.
I have to measure the oil pressure if is ok, maybe then check the others.
Is there any posibility to use some diagnostics?
Thank you in advance.

Pressure relief valve only operates at high-rpm when pressure is too high.
Is idle speed too low?
Test actual oil-pressure at idle with warmed up engine. Unscrew oil-pressure sender and connect hose for mechanical oil-pressure gauge. What pressure do you get?

Hi. I use usual oil as in many bikes - motul 10w40 5100, i change oil and filter every year or max. after 2000 km. This problem started last year. I though it was a bad oil pump, so i rather bought a new one (used, but with a measured parameters like a new one) and changed pump an oil pump chain, but old pump was also in good condition, still in tolerance.
What pressure it has to have on idle?
Honestly, that bike was in hands of one not so good mechanic, he did a flush of engine and after that after some little rides this problem started. I took it to my friend, he dismantled oil pan and told me that suction basket was dirty with little steel parts. So maybe that flush damaged the engine. Anyway the bike was running a few hundred km without any problem, after that flush and oil change. Power is still the same, throttle response is the same, sound of engine too.
Verify oil pickup tube strainer is still clear.
Test oil-pressure relief valve. If it's clogged, it may stick open and not let pump build pressure. Also test spring, if weakened or damaged, it may also not work properly.
