Hey guys, I just have 2 simple questions... What kind of oil do you use? What kind of coolant do you use?

Thanks for any replies,

For coolant I use the Honda pre-mixed stuff. It's cheap (like $2 bucks per quart) and it's nice and easy since you don't have to mix anything.

For oil I started out with HP4 but now trying Motul 5100 semi-synth, really like the Motul but also been hearing great things about the Mobil 15w50 red cap from walmart, hella cheap and so far grear reviews.

For motor oil I use mobil mx4t full syn. A little expensive but the oil vs. oil review this oil rated best five. Plus you can purchase this stuff at wal-mart.

as for coolant I use engine ice. I live in Arizona so temps get up there. I need stuff to keep my bike cool and this actually works well.

Mobil 1 Or Castrol Fully Synthetic for oil, Honda Oil Filters and Honda Premixed coolant easier.

A friend of mine uses Engine Ice. It keeps his bike about 14 degrees cooler. He also uses full synthetic in his zx12 and semi synthetic in the 2 rr's. He says that his 600rr runs so much better on motul semi-synthetic.

I have the regular Honda coolant in my F4i and have 20/40 oil in it now for the summer and in the winter 10/30. It was told to me by a former Honda mechanic not to use synthetic in my bike, so I won't.

I use Castrol Syntec (the stuff that is half synthetic and half conventional). I aim for 10 w 40 because I ride only when it is above 65-70F.
Instead of getting the claimed to be best oil I can buy, I would rather change my oil more frequently and use the stuff I use. I think that is a better stategy then getting the best oil and not changing it as frequently.

For coolant, I just use Prestone.

Seems to work fine; no complaints.

I agree. I have been using Castrol GTX in all my vehicles since 1979. I keep a notebook of oil changes.
