Hi Guys, my 1988 Hurricane CBR1000F (80+kms) has just needed around 5-600mls of oil since checking 3 x weeks ago...it's going well and not noticeably burning oil nor losing it. Worn rings come to mind as the compression test was "average" to say the least, before we did her up, and the bikes history tho not known is probably not well serviced. My question is: we are running Havoline fully synth Super 4T 20-40...is there a possibility that full synth is not suitable for this older machine?.or simply a case of worn rings?

Synthetic or not its 20-40w oil. Your rings are most likely worn.
