RE: often should i do the servicing.
Oil/filter I change around every 3500 miles or so. Let be honest, most bull**** about this 1000 miles changes are lies. Always change filter with oil. Chain.......you'll know. My 900RR chain lasted 20K. Brake fluid, I have never changed the rear, and the front I did when it started getting sticky and not operating smooth anymore. Basically I change the oil, lube the chain, check the tires pressure quite often. As for the coolant, brake fluid, spark plugs, air filter, I did all that stuff at once at 20K myself. That is all I've ever done in the way of service.

Since I ride more than one motorcycle, I change oil every 2000 miles or once a year, which ever comes sooner. Brake fluid, I change every other year. Chains, I oil every other tank, (still old habit from before "O" ring chains). Coolant, about every 4 years. Airfilter, I check and or replace about every 7500 miles

The chain I usuall oil about once a month to every 3 weeks. I change the oil every 3k miles. I changed the brake fluid in the front at 13k becuase I took my calipers apart, the rear I have never done. Some people replace there plugs at the begining of the riding season, I am going to replace mine every other year.
20k miles on the same air filter, man that must have been dirty! I replace mine every year, but when the farmers are getting their crops, I usually have to change it then becuase of all the dust.
