Default is it normal to have stick on weights on wheels

Bought a new rear tire today. Went to have it put on and the place i went used stickon weights when balancing the tire. Is that normal? I am thinking about taking it to honda and having them rebalance it tomorrow. Does anyone else have stickon wheel wieghts on there bikes?

I've never had a wheel come back to my shop with a problem from stick on weights. I use them on my bike for track days and no problems.

Good. I never had stickon weights on a rim before so i didn't know much about them. The guy made me a little nerves since it took forever for him to get it to balance. thought i better consult some experts. Thanks all

All i use, specially rear tire. Think of it sorta like a car wheel, ours are 6 inches wide for the most part, if you just put a weight on one side or the middle you are not getting it done as accurately as possible (middle only being pound on weights). Use sticky's and do weights near both lips for the best possible balance.

Ok got the tire back. now it's time to put it back on. My question is do i need to grease the axle bolt before reinstalling?

I dunno about that but you're cool with the stick on weights for balancing

The only thing you might want to do is put some black duct tape over the weights - just a little added insurance.
