Default Has anyone ever done the Coil Stick to their F3?

Has anyone ever done the coil stick to their F3 and found the right resistance to make it run right? Makes our Coil Pack look primitive to the updated version.

i havent seen anyone on here do that and to be honest it seems like a lot of wiring with no proven BHP improvements.

Really not alot of wiring issue. I know it would idle better and a little faster acceleration. I agree there wouldn't be much of a Hp gain, but our coil pack are a little outdated for being 15-20 years old and matter of time before they will need to be replaced. Might as well update and get a better burn on our spark plugs.

All I can say is, it is minimal cost and a small amount of effort for a solid, fat spark. On the CBR1000F it starts easier and idles/pulls a hell of a lot smoother than it did before the change to stick coils.

Not that I noted, but I have OEM cans on the bike. They're pretty quiet until you really open her up, by which time the noise is a good 100m behind me!

Bumping an older thread. So will this work on an F2 or not. Can you just follow the cbr1000r instructions on how to do this or is there a bunch of checking stuff with an ohm meter etc?

Need to find the correct coil stick with the right resistance on our bikes. If anyone knows the correct coil stick, please share.

So we need to check the stock F2/F3 coil resistance. Then find a stick coil with half of THAT resistance. Correct? So the person that did this to his cbr 1000f already says his choice of stick coil was cbr1krr and suzuki 600 (forget what years but anyway) so if we check our stock coil resistance and it matches "his choices" we're good to go? Also I see people getting stick coils from different bikes from 929 to 01 600's etc. Is someone checking the resistance of "those coils" from their bike here on the forum and then letting them/ the person updating know. I have an 06 cbr600rr that I could check myself and compare it to my F2. I realize there might be a difference between the stock cbr1000f resistance and the stock f2/f3 resistance.

Yes, I know there is a difference between the bikes and have forgotten what it was. I know we can't grab any coil stick off the shelf and just use it on the F2/F3's. Have to find the correct resistance first. I really would like to update my bike before the coil packs go out.
