Default No headlights or front signals

Hey kids, here's a weird one for ya:

I'm working on an SV650S (I know, shut up, it's not mine) and it's being quite odd. The bike runs just fine, but neither of the headlights or the front turn signals work, at all. Both hi's and lo's. I checked the fuses, and they're all good, and the rear signals are functioning normally. The guage cluster works fine, and the hi-beam indicator goes on and off when the switch is toggled, but the actual headlights lights never come on. I've verified all physical connections are good (though I haven't begun testing voltages yet). Got any ideas?

UPDATE: I get NO power at the front connectors, but I get a solid 12v at the fuses. I even did a continuity check on the fuses themselves to confirm they're good. . .

My first guess would be the sub harness is not plugged into the main harness, or the connection is bad. I'd at least unplug the harness, make sure all of the pins are still secure. Often times, the pins will come loose within the plug and loose connection.

Also, I think, not certain, but think there is a relay that shuts the power off to the headlights while the bike is cranked over. That relay may be stuck. I have no idea where it is or what its called though... but a look at the headlight relay itself may be in order.

Nothing wrong there. the sv650 is one the best handling naked bikes out there. A little underpowered for sure, but in the hands of the right person, a liter bike would have hard time catching one on the track.

That doesn't explain why the rear turn signals still work. Anyway, I don't see a relay in the wiring diagram. I DO see that there are two separate sub harneses, which makes things even weirder. . .

It ended up that there are FOUR sub-harnesses in the "face" that all connect to one massive connector that's also inside there, and that had come loose when the owner was fiddling around with something else.

I'm glad I could make your day just a little bit brighter. I'll continue to post bizarre problems with non-Honda bikes, just for you now.

No need. Just my ill attempt at humor. I guess when you've only gotten half an hour of sleep the night before, things seem a lot funnier than they are.

At least you found the issue. Wiring issues can turn into a nightmare rather quick.
