Default New Tail light troubles... Please Help!!!

Hey guys Im a newbie with a recently acquired 2001 CBR F4i. I love the bike, my wife bought it for me as a anniversary gift. The bike is great but the guy she bought it from put an undertail kit on it which eliminated the rear signals and license plate bracket. I bought a swingarm locense plate mount and volar motorsports tail light with integrated signals.

After searching this sight I finally found out how to wire it up and everything works fine tail light, brake light, signals and license plate illuminator, until I start the bike... then the tail light and brake lights quit working. The signals and plate illuminator lights work fine.

I have racked my brain all day and tryed various wiring combos only to blow about three fuses an dgive up and put my stock light back in which works fine, bike running or not... It seems to me that it would have to be the tail light itself that has the problem... I DONT KNOW AND IM NEARLY BALD!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Okay let me add to my confusion....

I found a yamaha site that a guy was having the same problem with his tail light after installing flush mount signals on the front of his r6... now I know that its a totally different bike but is it possible that the flush mounts already on my bike when I got it is affecting my tail light from the get go....

My flush mounts dont blink at all but never have, they just stay on constant like running lights until you turn the signal on then the one light goes out...

Thats the thing I hate about buying something that somebody has already messed with is you dont know what they have frigged up but like I said it was a gift from my wife and it isnt her fault she just knew that I have wanted a CBR for a long time.

OMG.... Im bout to FREAK!!!

This is the forum I found the solution on... basically it was caused by the front flush mount signals (which were already installed when I got the bike) were wired up wrong.

Yeah, threw me for a loop too, who knew the front signals would affect the rear tail and brake ligh but not the rear signals....

Anyways, I got it fixed and its working awesome and looks great.
