Sorry man let me clarify... If the kill switch is engaged the headlights will shut off as soon as you hit the starter switch...

I could be completely wrong though because he said only happens when he's hearing a knocking noise... Without being able to hear it i couldn't pin point more then what i already posted

Any one else know what would cause a loud knock when starting the bike? Sounds like multiple issues to me

 

thanks for the replies guys. I got my first ride in this year and the bike did it again. I'm starting to think its my battery. When I went to start it the knocking noise happened and again not wanting to start. I couldn't get it to start turning over again and after about 5 minutes of attemtping to turn over I could tell the battery was dying down. So I hooked it up and slow charged it for about an hour to juice it up. It happened again so I just hooked it up to my jump box and it started right up after say 10 minutes.

Have to say, after I finally hit the road I completely forgot about the problem.
But what do you all think?
