Ok tried to get my 94 Honda CB 1000 started and well the battery was dead so I pop started it got it going but then it would not shift at all. Played around with the shifter and got it to shift then took it about 50 feet and then it would not shift again and unable to get it in gear even beating it sounds like it is stuck between gears.

So what did I do to it and any idea how to fit it?

 

Check to make sure that the shifter and linkage has not come loose or is binding.

 

Thanks I look at today to see what the linkage is doing as I never thought to look at that.

 

Ok just looked at the diagram for the linkage and have to ask how do I check that?

 

isn't it just a pinch bolt onto the shift rod?


i can't believe anything changed to the drum or anything while it was sitting still (no matter how long it sat)....


it feels like it's stuck right? as in, you can't move the shifter at all? or, are you able to move the shifter freely and it won't find another gear

 

yup it is stuck cant move the shifter up or down. It locked up after I pop started it before that it shifted fine while in the driveway.
