Need Help!! Steering click.....????
well tonight my steering started making a weird click noise at certain points when i move the bars.... Cant quite pinpoint where its coming from, but i notice that my steering feels loose even when my hyperpro damper is all the way tight...then when i put the damper to its loosest setting the steering feels way too loose and easy to move back and forth...
but regardless of where the damper is it clicks when i turn the bars....[:@]
Sorry if i make no sense but im really confused and frustrated...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...ty

make sure your stem nut is tightened all the way. if you have a front stand (not fork stand), put the bike up and pull on the front wheel. if there is any play, clicking, etc., then it's time for new head bearings.
would this head bearing problem just come out of nowhere??
where would the click noise come from??....(the click noise basically sounds like the click you get when you just tap on your front brake)
...but its coming from the neck area

i just hit 10,000mi. and the i can count on 1 hand the number of wheelies my bikes seen (aside from the wheel lifting out of a turn) ....a bearing noise to me is usually a click/play in the shaft noise....this is like a distinct click noise...almost sounds like a switch/relay noise (but its not)
that sounds way too soon.
to rule out the steering head bearing, check to make sure the stem nut on the upper triple is properly torque'd. then rack the bike and pull on the front wheel/forks to see if there is any play.
