Default need help with speedo/odometer

Hey guys i am new to this forum and first post is an issue. sux but oh well.
I have an 05 F4i. I bought the bike on tuesday and since its used i went ahead and changed air filter oil filter and spark plugs and checked the chain. went thru fluids and all that. when i bought it the odometer said 11*** miles. i just put it back together on my lunch hour and now the odometer says 17654 or something like that and the speedo is way off. i was following with traffic and it indicated 80mph. does anyone have an idea of what could have caused this? oh and i never disconnected the battery.

Your speedo more than likely switched over to Kilometers. You'll have to switch it back to miles.

What justasquid said. press and hold the top button on your gauges and it will turn back.
