Default need help with seat lock and cowl

can some one take a look at these pics and tell me what im am missing on both the seat lock and the seat cowl or send pic of your seat lock so i can see how it goes thanks

Cool

Best way to do it is to download the image either to Photobucket and/or ImageShack. Right click on the picture, select properties, then copy the URL address, and paste it between these: [IMG] this is where you would paste it [/IMG].

You can also upload the image when submitting a post by clicking on the "manage attachments" option in the advanced menu. Capeesh?

can some one show me how the seat lock works and what parts im missing and also take a look at the seat cowl and see what im missing thanks.

Well, I figured out what you need. It's on this page: LINK parts #5, and #12.

Below is where it attaches, underneath that bar. Then the cable from the lock gets connected up to the seat catch hook.

Here's mine, you can kind of see how it's hooked up. Same bike, different year. It's right above the tip of the key hole arrow. Almost identical. You see how the cable is routed so when you turn the key, it undoes the little latch.

Oh, sorry, about the seat cowl, it looks to me like the elastic band would slip underneath the seat, and the cowl fits firmly around the seat. Once you get the latch fixed, the seat will be locked in, thus retaining the cowl in place, imo.
