My 2001 F4i won't start. help!
Hi, I have a 2001 honda f4i which I ride almost daily. I sometimes ride only a few miles but ride it often. But today it did not start......
I put the tender on but the lights and panel lit up but no sound, not even a peep....
After a full day's charge, it still does not turn over. I wonder if it is the starter (like a car?) or the fuse?
This is a used bike with 13,000 miles, and I never had any problems with it.... Any ideas?

Was the battery dead? or did you just assume it was because it didn't start?
There are a few simple things to check. One, is to make sure your kill switch is in the run position. Even if it is, they can act up sometimes. Switch it back and forth a few times to release a possible stuck contact inside the switch.
Check your clutch and kickstand switch to make sure they are connected properly.
A little more information may help in diagnosising the proplem. Such as, do your lights dim down when you press the start switch?
do your headlights go out when hit the starter button? If not you may have a bad starter switch. Even if the starter was bad, the lights should still go out when you press the starter button.

Thanks for the input. I checked and the lights do dim a little and the battery seems to be working........Clutch and kick stands are ok.....But there is no sound at all, only a small hissing sound when I turn the key to "on" position.....
well, I will have to take it to the dealer, if it odes not work by tomorrow......

The problem with my bike is that I am STUPID. My previous bike with neutral light did not work so I got used to seeing the bike without the neutral green light lit.
The problem is my bike was not in neutral and the bike was on a kick stand. Thus, the bike could not start.....The bike did not jump when it was in gear becuase the kick stand prevented it from getting started. Well, what a #%$@#&^%^Y jerk I am for over looking it for so long. So everyone out there, do not forget to put the kick stand up.....
Thank God the bike is working...
