muffler baffles??
I've heard that rather than installing an aftermarket pipe, which I don't want to do, that I can pull the baffles out of the stock pipe to increase the sound. Anybody ever done this or heard anything like this and if so is it hard to do?
Thanks
Thanks
i bro in law has done it to his 600 and i sounds a lot nicer imo. deeper, alittle louder but not very. if you know how to open it up then weld it back then it should be a piece of cake. something i also wanted to do. ill ask about again though.
It will increase the sound, but in my opinion, the sound is not a good one. it will sound like what it is... a hollowed out tube. Plus, you will run the risk of loosing power as the exhaust will no longer be tuned. You may not loose any, but it is a risk.
do a search and there is plenty of threads on drilling them out, i would not reccommend you try if you dont know how to remove the muffler(in case all the peices dont come out with the bit). I think it sounds better but some people complain of a popping at higher RPM's.
