MOTOR DIES WHEN PUT INTO GEAR
KICKSTAND IS UP BIKE IN NUETRAL AND WARMED UP ..WHEN I PUT INTO FIRST GEART IT DIES .INSTANTLY .I TRIED LOOSENING THE CLUTCH CABLE ALOT!AND THEN IT WILL STAY ON BUT BARLEY ENOUGH TO TAKE OFF . COULD THIS BE A CLUTCH ISSUE ..IT JUST HAPPENED .I WAS RUNNING FINE..I DONT UNDERSTAND 2001 929RR[:@]
when you put it in first does it take off and die because your clutch isnt working or does it feel like your hitting the kill switch when you put it in first (kick stand switch)?? OR lol.. does it not even feel like it goes in gear and then it dies? be more specific.......
The manual describes how to disconnect the side stand switch and check for continuity between each terminal. You will probably have to clean or replace the switch.
YES IT FEELS LIKE I HIT THE KILL SWITCH IMMEDIATLY WHEN IT GOES INTO 1ST .BUT MY KICKSTAND IS UP AND IF I LOOSEN THE CLUTCH CABLE ALOT IT WILL RIDE BUT REAL ****TY ..WOULDENT THAT ELIMINATE THE KICKSTAND SWITCH BEING BAD?
The clutch has a electrical sensor/safety so you can't start it in gear without the clutch lever pulled in. It's located at the lever and works similiar to the kickstand switch. Maybe that's why when you adjust the cable it sorta runs because it makes connection just not a good enough one to run properly. To check it try using a jumper wire on the connector and see what happens.
Just an idea.
