Default Lubing chain

How often should I clean and lube my chain? I haven't seen anything in writing.

i find that it is easier to do it after ever ride because it never gets very dirty so you don't have that grit to deal with. i just wet a cloth with mineral spirits wipe it real quick then take the spout of dura lube bottle and turn the back wheel to run it along chain.

I do mine every time i clean the bike, i clean the chain first then lube it. Chain still looks new after 11k miles and some really nasty road crap. The 500 miles bit is depending on where and when you ride, more dust or rain riding and you`ll need to lube more often than that.
