Lubing the chain 06 fi - warranty
Will the warranty go void if I take off the tire, chains, etc & lube it myself. It's been 3 months since I got my bike. I can see paint markers put on the bolts, etc.
Or should I just lube it without taking off the chain.
Feedback appreciated

I lube mine without taking off the chain. Just put it on the rear stand and turn the wheel while spraying. But to clean it I think you have to take it off. I haven't done that yet I honestly don't know when you should clean your chain. /shrug

you should lube ur chain every 500 miles
your warranty will not be void for doing maintenance

The only way Honda can void your warranty is if they prove that a malfunction was caused by something YOU did.
I.E. you do some wierd chain cleanind and your chain snaps and trashes the crankcase. That would VOID the warranty.
Honda would never design a motorcycle that required the dealer for routine service.
Chain cleaning:
DO NOT remove the chain. First of all to do so without removing the swingarm would require that you break the chain. Not good.
[ul][*]Ride to warm the chain.[*]Get the rear tire off the ground. (rearstands prefferably) [*]Spray the chain liberally with WD-40. [*]Scrub it lightly with a plastic brush (NOT METAL). [*]Wipe clean with a cloth.[*]Spray on Chain Lube (I use Maxima Chain Wax)[*]Repeat evert 300-500mi.
[/ul]
I clean mine every 300 because WD-40 and Maxima is cheap, chains are not. At 300 I can hear the chain.
Removing the chain to clean it is going to cause undue wear on the fasteners of your bike and turn a 15 minute job into a 30 minute job.
