Unhappy Lights don't work after servicing?

Hey all, first post soooo go easy on me.

I just took my 06' 600 RR in to get an oil change, buyers inspection, and clutch adjustment on Saturday. I noticed later than night that my lights don't work anymore! (highbeams or lowbeams) Yes, the lights were working just fine before I took it in.

I called the shop and told them about the issue and they said that nothing they did could have have affected my lights. I really don't want to be charged for servicing on something that is their fault.

I'm not technical at all but I suspect one of two things happened:
1) They disconnected wires while inspecting the bike?
OR
2) They were careless when washing my bike and got some electronics wet?

Are either of these scenarios plausible??? Please let me know if you have any suggestions/potential fixes/things to check. They've agreed to look at my bike free of charge to see what's up.

Thanks!

Bring it back and have them look it over since they offered to do so for free. Any easy fix will be found quickly by someone that knows bikes, and its probably your best bet since you stated your not very mechanical.

They are correct in stated what they did should not have affected the bike. Thats not to say they didnt accidentally unplug your headlight. They would have removed the side fairing, when in doing so, could have jared the wiring harness loose.

Bikes are pretty much water proof from washing. Everything that is important is sealed up well. I don't see them washing the bike,(no matter how much water they used), hurting the bikes electronics.

If your going to tackle it yourself. Check both headlights and make sure the headlight bulbs are plugged in. If you have a volt meter, it would be a good time to check to see if you have voltage to the plug. If you do, replace the bulbs. If you don't continue with searching the wiring harness. There is a sub harness that plugs into the main harness. Check to make sure it is secure. Also check the fuses to make they are good.

it sounds like they are not trying to screw you by offering to look at the bike. Mistakes can happen, its how the dealership handles the mistake which will tell if its a good dealership or not. But so far, they sound pretty reputable.

Thanks for the info. Connections look fine, but I can't take the side panel off atm. I'll just take it in tonight and figure it out.
