LED brake light not bright enough

LED brake light not bright enough
Ok, I did search but could not find a specific answer.
My 01 F4i has the undertail with the integrated LED brake lights. The problem is when applying the brakes, the brightness barely changes from running light to brake light. Other posts have mentioned wiring in a resistor or diode, but does anyone know exactly what resistor or diode? also does it go inline with the running or brake light?

Not sure what they are talking about wiring a resistor. Mainly, the reason they wire in a resistor inline would be to slow the blinking down as the intergrated are leds and there is less current draw. the resistor brings the current draw back up to a standard bulbs draw.
If there is someway to install one between the running lights and the brake lights, you would have to tear apart the brake light housing and modifiy itinternally.
Keep in mind, leds are brighter the farther you get away from them. Try standing further behind the bike and see how bright they are.
I have clear alternative's integrated lights and the brakes are just as bright as the stock one.

if you go find a Radio Shack or something you can get a standard silicone diode to run inline with your running lights. This will drop the feed voltage 0.6vDC, dimming them slightly. A 1N5404 or 1N5402 should do quite nicely. I used the 5404 to do a blinker mod on the my old lights.
You would install it with the white stripe on the LED side of the wire you cut.
