i actually had a similar problem on my f4i. The chain was rubbing against the shift linkage but it made more of a grinding/buzzing noise and was more predominant during deceleration. I looked down at it and it seemed to be bent slightly inward so instead of trying to bend it back i just took off the rearseat and put like two washers between them and the holes they bolt up to to move it away from the chain.

If you have a rearstand put it up on there and spin the tire (with the bike in neutral) and look to see if you can tell whats rubbing. If not you can always walk the bike forward and try to look or have a buddy push the bike while you bend down and look. You get the idea....

whoops rearset* rear seat is way different haha. Is it the chain rubbing against something then? If you can find out what exactlys rubbing then itll obviously be way easier to fix it

yeah thats exactly what mine was rubbing against. That rubber boot/cover thing right on that like ball joint where the linkage meets? or the actual lever itself? Is your rearset or lever bent in then im assuming? It must be pretty bad if spacing it out with two washers didnt help.
