I have the K&N but couldnt tell you the difference as I've never had a stock one in it. Split fire? Again, I dont know, I use NGK IR plugs and they seem to work good. They spark anyway.

K&N's... great!!!!!! Spitfire's... for go carts,w/ no rings left !!!!! Bikes run lean, burn properly, IMHO, if a person needs split fires to completely burn the charge... they've got bigger problems mechanicaly, that need dealing w/. splitfires, are not the hot setup!!!!!!!!! Touted by v-8 boys, w/ sloppy carburation and no tune'n skills !!!!!!!!!!!! Clean and free, Ripp'n

+1 on that use the plug the bike call for.there are a lot of gimics out there in plugs that don't work. use the kind that came with the bike. thats what i would do.

I just recently pulled apart my engine and found that one of the tips of the splitfires that were installed by the previous owner had broken off and embedded itself in the carbon built up in the combustion chamber. I'm putting NGKs back in.
