It's a failsafe...it wouldn't indicate a low temp warning if it was a vibration problem...

On a second note...if anyone on here cared to do their research...hell 5 minutes on google would show more than enough users having a low temp problem with this camera...

And on a third note...from the sportbikecam.com site (they make mounts):

Q. Will DVD or Harddisk camcorders work?
A. DVD and Harddisk cameras will not work because the vibration from the motorcycle effects the spinning disc in the camcorder.

It's not the vibration...its a failsafe. Harddrives have metal components...which will contract under extreme cooling(flying down the road)...so if your camera drops below operating temp...it shuts off...also...ever notice how when something in a room...runs below room temp...it gets condensation on it? You DONT want that in your camera...failsafes...thats all
WTFH???

its the vibrations. Smack the side of your PC real hard n see if it doesnt lock up.
+1 on the bull**** excuse. What do the people who overclock with liquid nitrogen do? A SDcard will do the trick since theres no moving parts inside.
when people overclock cpus gpus...whatever...they do not aim to lower temps to BELOW room temp...they aim to keep it cool. Lower than room temp = condensation.
Original poster...good luck with the SD card...if the temp sensor trips only in HDD mode then you should be fine

I am not sure who posted about doing research on Google, but I did. I hear people are having problems with there HDD cameras without SD cards. Apparently the SD card should circumvent the vibration isssue. However, I am not certain whether it is a vibration issue or a temperature issue. The temperature issue seems to only happen when I am riding. I can pull over restart the camera and I have no issue, but as soon as I start to ride I get a temperature issue 1/2 the time and a hard disk problem the other 1/2. Still waiting on the SD card but I pray that will alleviate the problem. Thank you for all the help, always love this forum.

temp may be an additional issue, but theres not a HDD made that will work correctly vibrating l.ike hell as it would on a bike.
