Default Jump starting my motorcycle.

Ok, I know what everyones gonna say...but i don't have thousands for a sportbike. I gota kick start on my bike, anyway havn't rode it in 1&1/2 months, battery's dead. Can I kick it, if I can and it starts will it charge the battery up while running? no way to use a charger. but i do have a car battery.

That battery is prolly low, but not fully drained. Really depends on how the bike was stored, temp, and some other variables. You can jump start the bike using jumper cables from a car or another bike, but make sure the vehicle is running before you try to crank your bike. Another way is to run with the bike, have it in 1st or 2nd gear, release the clutch while trying to start the bike. Not sure if this will work for kick starts. Doubt it.

Once you get it started, ride it around for a few minutes (I'd say at least 15mins, more like 30). Depending on what bike you have, most don't start charing the battery until you rev the engine up. The higher the revs, the more voltage the stator produces.

do not use the car's battery to jump start your bike...if you're lucky, nothing breaks...if you're semi-lucky, main fuse and other fuses go out...if you're unlucky, you fry it all...especially with the vehicle running! so do NOT jump with the vehicle running if you're going to use the car battery.

it's up to you...some guys have done it with no problems...but others have experienced serious damage...i personally wouldn't do it as it's not worth it...

All the two-stroke street bikes I had came with a kickstarter, but I haven't seen a kickstarter on a streetbike since the 1970's. If your bike is that old, it probably has a points and condenser ignition, so not much to fry. If the battery is dead, I would take it out and check the water level. If none, I would add some to the lower level and put an automobile charger on it for a few hours. Then try it out. By the way, what bike is this?

And what if my truck hasn't been startd in like a month either.my 2wheel is a 1976 kkawasaki z400100 bucks runing and all. it's my first motorcycle, it's only a small commuter bike ,398cc 36 hp at the wheel. I got her up to lik 47.-- i think .43 on my pops friends dyno at the shop. See my pops is a gear head and has a hurricane that I ripp on on the weekends(wut he doesn't know won't hurt him...lol) so that's gonna be my next bike- HAND ME DOWN -hence why i'm on this forrum. had to throw my question in there though, every1 here so smart bout bikes so y not. but waters good and truck starts.
