Intermittent Power Loss

Intermittent Power Loss
2008 CBR600RR
I am starting to notice intermittent power loss while riding. Here are the symptoms and mitigating factors:
Power loss occurs intermittently while in gear. While the bike is still rolling, it is still possible to restart when pressing the ignition button.
The Starter Switch doesn't start the engine on rare occasion and flicking the Engine Shut off on/off a few times seems to remedy it.
This scenario seems to happen when it's more humid than normal.
I've been told by a Honda dealership's service department that the electronics on cbr600rr tends to fail especially when it's older than 10 years.
Anyone else had these similar symptoms? I'm thinking I'll need a new switch, but wanted some feedback before ordering it.

I would start with the shut-off switch as these are a known weak point, seems to fit your symptoms.
I would also suggest that your service dept are talking rubbish, yes the occasional component will / does break but on the whole these machines a phenomenally reliable, just
have a browse on this site for some of the older immaculate machines that people have.
