hey..
just got a honda cbr250r (1989)

the light on the dash that tells you the indicators are on works for left turns but not for right.
i opened the indicator switch and cleaned it with contact cleaner, then took off both the front and rear fenders to look for any loose or damaged wires and couldn't find anything.
Any ideas what could be wrong? I guess it would just be either a loose or broken wire, does this sound right? Any ideas where in particular i should look for this?

Does your turn signal blink? If not, then it's either disconnected or the bulb is blown.

 

sorry i should have mentioned that - all of the indicators work fine, its just the light on the dash that doesnt work for right turns, and it is the same light for left and right so it couldnt be the globe

 

well i just made a very interesting discovery..
i took the front fender off and started taking the tape off the wiring to trace the light blue wire from the dash light to see where it connects to the rest of the indicator wiring.. I found the connection and it all seemed fine so i was wondering why it was not working..
then i took the bulb out of the dash light to have a look, then when i out it back in the light would come on for right but not left - so it had changed which one was working..
so if i take the bulb out and flip the positive and negative around, the opposite side starts working if you know what i mean..

so does anyone know how it works?
The dash light has a light blue and an orange wire. So i guess when i indicate right one becomes positive and the other negative?
Anyone got any ideas what else I can try??
