Default FI Warning light

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have been out of the bike scene for about 10 years. It's amazing how so much has changed. Last week I purchased a 2001 929rr Erion with about 10,500 miles and yesterday it threw up a fi warning on the display with the red light and was curious as to what can trigger the light.(bad gas ect). Thanks in advance for any advice.

tonight i was looking @ my low beam light and pulled the plug off and then i put it back on and then i turned the bike on and it died out, then it wouldnt start and the red light was flashing @ me and my fi light came on. well then i got on the bike and tried to start it and it fired right up and i found out later my low beam light burnt out.

so im assuming the flashing red light has something to do with electrical .. and my friends 636 through up a fi light after he was doing wheelies and it wouldnt go away. i pulled the ecu fuse and it went away.

so im not exactly sure. i think when the light flashes so many times it refers to a code (long flash is a 10, short is a 1.. LONG LONG SHORT SHORT = 22.. etc)

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll pull some fuses tonight and see if that does the trick.
