Frame sliders is a good idea but getting a used bike to learn on is good too,I wouldnt ride without plastics they are there for a reason.. If someone has never ridden, start in the dirt it hurts way less if you fall.

here's my solution, have a nice set of fairings to put on once you've been on the bike for a few hundred miles, and a crappy set that it wont matter if you break em, scratch em up or whatever. simple enough?
