Default How many miles?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, im still kinda trying to learn these forums. I am looking into getting a used cbr and was wondering how long do these bikes usually last? I am looking to spend around three grand and wanted to know a safe number for the milage.

Thanks for any help.
Chris

If they have been maintained, then even high mileage will last. Does not mean that things don't wear though & bits need replacing. $3000 should get you a decent bike with low to reasonable mileage (20000/40000), but that depends on what model & year your going for.

I wouldn't necessarily worry about how many miles as opposed to how much stuff needs to be replaced when you buy it.

I bought a 97 F3 with around 20K miles for $1,800. It was a good deal. But now I'm spending about $1000 on labor and parts to get everything running well. Not like engine work, but tires, chain/sprockets, getting the speedometer and stuff hooked up, all the fluids changed, new brake pads/lines etc. So, just be wary of how much you'll have to put into it.

Honda's have great reliability though. It's a well known fact

But if you're good at working on mechanical things then maybe you'll have better luck. I just suck at it so I have to pay other people lol

Like the others have mentioned, I wouldn't pay much attention to how many miles are on the bike. Pay more attention to the overall condition of it. How well it's been maintained. My wifes 97 F3 has 54,000 miles on it and is in better condition now than when we bought it 3.5 years ago with 14,000 miles on it. I suspect we could sell it for more than we paid for it. Condition and maintenance.

BTW
It's not for sale.
