Then only a few seconds ,if it starts . because it seems the plus change position as being lean that could be that the connectors on the rubbers are'nt tight enough, if it starts then shut it off, while its idling the Pilot Screws come into action more and they might need adjusting that can be done with carbs on the bike ( a bit awkward) but that could be whats making the plugs black

Possible but the last owner had it dyno 1 year ago I haven't touch the pilot screws other than to see if they move and out the setting back to how they were.. also one of them has been bored off and cannot even get it to move so might have the get a screw extractor and buy a new pilot jet screw

You wont really get to know until you ride the bike, once its running see if you can get to a straight bit of road ( near to your tools) get the engine up to speed (high enough RPM's) then hit the kill switch , this will prevent your engine going down to idle and making the plugs black again, Do this somewhere safe with no traffic behind you just incase, walk the bike to your tools take the spark plugs out if they look clear then its those Pilot Screws at fault, But please be careful when doing this as you'll only have brakes, Putting a screw extractor into the carbs is not a good idea ,if you cant get that one out leave it ,it should only effect during idle
