Default High revving issue

Hi guys, just got my first CBR600rr 2005

When the bikes cold and I start it will idle at 2k then as soon as it registers a temp it starts Erving up to 3500 and doesn’t seem to want to settle down

but if I turn off then leave for 5 mins and turn back on it seems to be okay at isles around 1500rpm?

does anyone have a idea what’s happening?

thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum. I think I'd be looking at the obvious things first. Making sure the throttle linkage and everything involved with it are functioning properly. How is the idle ****/cable set? Is the Wax Unit operating properly? Need to remove the tank and air box to check these things.

how would be the best way to test the wax unit? The idle screw I haven’t touched, but just started the bike again and was idling at 2k whilst warming and didn’t creep up to 3500 when the temp started showing
