Default HIDs- how much truth is there

Just out of curiosity.

A 55w kit will was out the color. So according to ddm a 55w 8000k will look similar in color to a 35w 6000k (obviously brighter, but I'm just talking color). This is the example they give.

So would a 55w 6000k kit look like a 5000k or lower 35w system? Or would it still be pure bright white, to the point where you can't go any further without getting blue?

55W 6000K is about as close to pure white as you can get I think.

They are all a little blue, unless you go for yellow. Tis just the nature of the beast...

I have seen 35W 4500K and 55W 6000K and to my eyes the later was less blue. There is actually a store here that does car stereos and turbo chargers and all that ricer stuff. They have a showroom setup where they have all the different bulbs running for you to see the color differences. I chose the 35W 12000K because I wanted a redish purple.

4300k is the closest to a pure white projection as you can get, which is what most of the oems use. Go higher and you get darker and bluish, go less and it becomes yellow.
