Default Help! : How Do I Replace a Missing Key ?

Where sould I go to have a replacment key made without getting ripped off? I do not have a spare of any kind... no keys! [:@]
The VIN and title would be all that I need?

I have a used 95 CBR 600 F4 in storage. I have moved several time over the years without riding this bike. For the life of me, the keys to it are no where to be found.

Pop the ignition cyclinder and get the code off of the back of it. You could also check the inside of the fuel cap or some where on the helmet lock also as they would all have the same code if they are original. Honda doesn't record them by VIN they give you a seperate lock code when you buy the bike new. Just take the code to a good locksmith and they'll be able to make it for you. Had the same prob last yr myself.

I know that Honda doesn't keep record of the key via VIN for motorcycles. If you order a key, it comes uncut and that is the only way you can order it. I know this because I use to work in the parts dept of bike shop. You might be able to take your helmet lock to a locksmith and they could figure it out the tumbler combination. I have no idea what the would run in cost. I have taken the fuel tank cap apart and it doens't come apart very easily but there were no numbers on the cylinder. My recomendation is to take the helmet lock to a locksmith and have them figure the tumbler combination.

If you have a bill of sale...it's on there....

Meaning you can tell the locksmith the 3 number and letters from the BOS and he'll get the template...etc.

Dear Sirs,
Not to insult you Mr.Marshall, but motorcycle theft is quite high these days and these good gentlemen were willing to fill in the missing information to help invite the curiosity of a suspicious person. Do yourself a favor and take the title to a Honda dealership along with the key code.
