Default HELP! Bike not starting

Hey CBRforum, I have a 954 project that I'm finishing off. Today I was working on it, got almost everything to finish it off, put gas, new battery and try to get it started but, only cranks. The fuel pump primes, checked fuses they're good, relay clicks. What can it be? BTW this bike was in an accident and I'm currently restoring it.

It sounds like the battery is flat. Check the voltage across the terminals with a volt meter. If the voltage is low at 12 volts or less then try jump starting from another vehicle which has a 12 volt system. If it starts then you can check the charging system with the volt meter connected to see if the voltage rises as you rev the engine. You should see 14-14.5 volts on the meter if you rev the engine to over 3000 revs. If you don't get an increase you need to do further checks on the system to determine if the problem lies with the voltage rectifier or the alternator or both. Try your local battery dealer who should do these tests for a small fee.

Did you install the BAS upside down? It's a common problem when rebuilding a bike.

Thanks for the reply guys. Forums these days have gotten to an all time low, back then there was plenty of help. Anyways, last week when i tried to start it the fuel pump didnt prime because I had changed the harness. On yhe old harness the BAS had been bypassed so i came to that conclusion and went ahead and ordered one. I put in a new and the batterry cranks but, runs out of juice after a while. Also the gas tank barely had any gas so it can either be low gas or battery is low. The battery is new but must of ran out of so many cranks it did last week. So for my next day off, I'll fill up the tank and juice the battery, hopefully it'll start right up. Wish me luck guys.

When you said in your original message that you put gas in the tank I figured that you put in at least a couple of gallons of FRESH fuel and not something that's been sitting in the garage all winter.

You said that you can hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key on so I won't post how to check that with a multimeter on the connector. Keep us posted.

Im sorry but, last week it had a tank full of gas and most of it had been drained out because i sent it out to a shop for paint. This Saturday I forgot to add gas, there was only a bit left and don't think its was enough to get the motor going. I'll keep the thread updated.
