I work for a Towing Company in the town I live in, I recently towed a 87 CBR1000 to a Honda Dealer. They told the guy it would be 4-5 hundred to diagnose the problem, So he said f it and bought a new bike. I bought the CBR off him for $150. He said he was comming into town and the bike started making a tapping sound. He stop and got gas, when he started it back up he thought it was louder. He made it 6miles and the bike just died. Now it will not start. I have checked spark and fuel and i have both. Anyone have any ideas on what to check now?

sounds like its time to check the cylinder compression...if it got louder all the sudden could be a valve problem.
