I have a 96 cbr600f3 and I bought a motor thinking it was an f3 98 motor, turns out it is a little newer than that and is a 99 or 00 f4 motor, not an f4i however, so still carbed. What can I do about it or do I have to try and get a different motor now?

 

No, The f3 motor shares a bolt with the swing arm and engine case, where as the f4 does not. So with out heavy modifications it wont fit correctly. And i believe the f4 motor is a bit wider so the fairings wont fit correctly.

Yeah, I was looking and there is some serious mods for the f4i motor, and the f4i is almost the same except for throttle bodies. I'm hoping the guy will be good about it since it seems like just an honest mistake on his part when he listed it.

It was a local pickup out where I used to live. I think he'll be good about it cause he was hoping it would get my bike better instead of just sitting.
