Default 92 carbs on a 98 motor??

I couldnt really find anything that specified but i bought a 92 cbr 600 from a guy who put a 98 motor on the bike. It seems like it runs kinda lean so i checked the carbs on it which are labeled 41a which if im not mistaken is 92 carbs and 61a would be 98 carbs. My question is am i supposed to have 98 carbs on a 98 motor or will it be ok to keep the 92 carbs? Is there a difference besides jetting? Another thing is im about to order a jet kit for the bike so should i get a jet kit for a 98 or 92? I wanted to be totally sure before i wasted my time and money on these carbs.

I wouldn't buy a "jet kit", instead I would bring the bike to a tuner and have him select the perfect jetting and needle clip positions for your bike, as well as sync the carbs.

A jet kit will get you "close" to ideal jetting, but never bang on... It's worth it to spend the couple extra bucks and have it done to perfection.
