Default gsxr 600 need help

i know we all ride hondas here but my best friend has a 2001 gsxr 600 and i am having a big problem! hes is not to handy with mechanical stuff so i offered to change his sprockets an chain. well i got everything on but he took the cover off of the front sprocket and pulled the cluth cable and push thing apart i have no idea how to put this all back together. its a mess and the only way to explain what im talking about is its the cover that the clutch cable goes into and hooks up to the thing that pushes the rod into the whloe clutch. after putting it together and taking it apert 4 times i cannot get the clutch to disengage and the cable iseither way to tight or way to lose!it all worked before andi know it doesnt need a new clutch but i cannot get this back together. sorry bout the long post just need any help if anyone knows anything about this or can tell me where to look i would appreciate it. thank you

on the gsxr the clutch cable runs into a casing that you have to take off to get to the front sprocket. when you pull the lever it pushes the rod in and out i cannot put it back on right.

I would download the service manual for the gsxr600. Here is a link:
http://www.myxmanuals.com but you have to register before you can download

I hope that helps!
