Going to bedliner my bike, what's youre opinions on it?

If you just drip some gas on it, it should be fine as the gas will evaporate pretty quick. Do it everytime you fill up, it may start to weaken the paint. Unless you use a two part paint,(hardener and paint), it will not be very gas resistant. It will more than likely be ok with occasional encounters with gas, but if you spill a lot on it, it will probably peel it up or at the very least discolor it.
If your concerned about it, go to the store, buy a can of what ever color your going to be using and spray a test piece. Find something laying around and paint it. Put on a few good coats and let it sit for a few days. Come back and dump some gas on it so you can see what happens.
You can paint it white right now, then clear it later. Although it would be best to clear it when you paint it. Your paint can get contanimants in it that may lead to the clear not adhering very well. But, if you wet sand the panels with 600 grit paper, it will allow the clear to adhere and most likely will be ok clearing later. Ive seen some people use 800 or 1000 grit, but that is too fine for my liking. 600 is fine enough that any scratches will be filled in by the clear and still give a good amount of ahesion for the clear.

Thanks Squid, you've been a big help. I get the bike in 11ish days, and it'll probably be another month before I even get around to worrying about cosmetics really. By then I'm sure I can afford clear, haha. Maybe even a paintgun to do it the right way.

Take up that offer with bradseabridge. I would only paint the under fairings never anything main plastics, that bedliner is horrid.
