ghetto fork refill?

Ok - my 1992 F2's right fork leg is losing a good bit of oil, and the forks themselves have little rebound dampening, and the preload is so soft that it is sagging a ton.
I have a set of 1994 forks on the workbench with full seals and racetech springs in the mail. I was going to rebuild those and swap onto my bike since the 94 cartridge forks are better than the 92 rod style.
since the 92 forks only have to go a little farther, can I just pour some replacement forkoil in them for the time being to try and slow em up a bit?
what procedure would I need to follow for this stop-gap?
