Default getting a seat lock with the same key?

Hey I was just wondering if it's possible to give the dealership my vin and get a seat lock that works with the same key? Or is that a go to a locksmith type of thing? Has anyone done this? I tried googling but I think I'm using the wrong keywords haha. Thanks in advance!

Depends on what you need done.

If you don't have a matching tail lock at all - then you need to have a locksmith switch the tumblers for you. It most likely will cost $40-60 at any local locksmith.

I had a matching tail lock, but it didn't work with my tail, so I had to modify it myself in order to make it work It only cost a few bucks to do. (But I had to use my own materials/tools/etc). The other option was to buy a tail lock assembly off ebay (one that didn't come with a key or one that had been drilled out) and have a locksmith switch the tumblers over/make tumblers to fit the key inside of the new assembly. Costs are probably $40-80/100 depending on how much effort and spare parts it takes

Or, you can just buy a whole new lockset for everything all together... Usually costs $100-150

Alright cool. Yeah I just bought a new cbr to replace my stolen/crashed one and it came with a racing tail and no key lock in the back. I have the lock and key from my old cbr but I would prefer to have one key for every lock on the bike so I was just wondering if that was a possibility and how much. Thanks for the very nice explanation lol
