Default General question about fuel ratio

ok my bike is old, it's a '92 and has the cable choke and all that good stuff that comes with carburetors. when i start it up lately, it's warm outside so i haven't had to use choke at all, it cranks up and idles just fine. i take off and i'm sure the engine isn't completely warmed up yet, and i can give it full throttle and take it all the way through the RPMs smoothly. after the bike has warmed up, however, when i give it full throttle, it does a little bit of a sputtering routine from about 7000 RPM on up. is this a sign that my fuel mixture is too rich if the bike runs better cold and then runs crappy when warm (when the fuel mixture is leaner than at cold operating temps)? anyone with carb tuning experience, i'd appreciate your advice or insight.
