I guess it would depend what jets you fitted to the bike.
The needles won't change, just the adjustment.
Did you fit a K&N filter or other non-std filter ?
This will also have an effect on your settings.

RE: 600RR tail swap... Sure, you can do it but you're going to get into a lot of modification & fab work. If you're good w/ your hands & have some exhaust work know-how, you can do it. The question you have to ask yourself is - is it worth the time/effort/money to get the desired result. Also, be aware you'll need to install a heat shield above the pipe. That will have to be fabbed as well. I'm all for a good project (as you know from my split-seat conversion tutorial) but be sure you're ready to do it right.

If you decide to do it, we'd appreciate a build/mod thread of your efforts.

The rr tail swap writeup would be amazing to see. Have you synced the carbs yet?
